Day of the dead slide show
http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2007/11/03/travel/20071003_MEXICO_SLIDESHOW_index.html
Recently, I'm noticing how good the nytimes pictures really are. You may have to "register" to look at this, if you aren't already registered w/ the nytimes. It's free and all, but I realize some people don't like to hand over email address, etc. I love these slideshows, though. It's like a minitutorial in how to describe something in 12 images. Hope you like...

Inspiration for portraits
Good morning!
Don't think I have forgotten about sending inspirational links. I haven't.
Here is some lovely portrait work by Louise Dahl-Wolfe. Link found on avant-garde fashion photography.

Marten Lange
Marten Lange love his quote about the subject matter: "explores the point where logic becomes so complex it seemingly deteriorates into nonsense."

ok one more today - Paula Raeside
I really like the consistency of tones in these photos. they are a little too magaziney for me in general. But I like the tones.

Cig Harvey link
Some of the photos on this specific portfolio remind me of the saturated images on your site Louise. Very pretty.

Topic: B/W
Is it better to set the camera to B/W for shooting, or change an image to B/W later, in image processing? Is it really all the same? Does it make a difference when looking through the camera, in terms of how we see? Any photos related to this could be posted on the group page called "Black and White in camera, or later?" Could also experiment here with images that are shot in color but look like b/w.
New! Links section
I added a links section to the page and started with Louise's site - True Story. I will add my site as soon as I create it. Do you have a site Tom?
